To cap off London's art-filled 'Frieze Week', Dr Amin Jaffer, Christie's International Director of Asian Art hosted an intimate lunch to celebrate the auction house's new partnership with the India Art Fair, to be held in Delhi from 1 - 3 February 2013. Guests were greeted by Dr Jaffer and Sandy Angus, co-owner of the Fair, who both welcomed the alliance as a significant step in raising the profile of South Asian art among top collectors of contemporary art worldwide.
Super-star artist Subodh Gupta was among the A-list attendees whose number also included noted patrons of South Asian contemporary art like Lekha Poddar of the Devi Art Foundation, Feroze Gujral of Outset India, Asha Khilnani, Chandarika Pathak, Gauri Keeling, Poonam Bhagat, Asif and Shakiba Rangoonwala and Rajeeb and Nadia Samdani of the Samdani Art Foundation. International guests included Nicoletta Fiorucci, Judith Greer, Tiqui Demirdjian and Pearl Lam. It was a rather fabulous way to spend a bright, sunny Sunday afternoon.
